To our loving God, in the midst of the ongoing pandemic, continue to hold the people of Indonesia in your loving arms; have mercy on those who are suffering from the illness, on those who have lost family members, as well as on the many who have lost sources of income in a country with few saving accounts and no safety nets. Strengthen those in leadership positions who seek to address the many issues associated with the pandemic: the shortage of health care services and hospital beds, the lack of vaccines, and the resistance to lockdowns and social distancing. Put away the falsehoods that discourage people from accepting vaccinations. May the Holy Spirit inspire the people to find ways to be together safely, using masks, technologies, and creativity so that they can gather without threatening their health by exposing themselves and each other to the virus. All of this we pray in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who loves us and gives himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.             Amen.

Don Britt shared the joy of the birth of their grandson’s new baby, their first great grandchild. Congratulations! 

Frank Scouten shared the joy of his mom becoming a great great grandmother, the birth of a baby girl.  Congratulations!

Dave Halgren thanked Dave Foley for sharing his thoughts in the Reflection today.

Lisa Cawthra asked for prayers of thanksgiving for her daughter, Ruby, who after many struggles and difficulty with her accepting help, she has been in inpatient rehab for substance addiction.  She calls almost every day and seems happy with the program.

Happy Birthday to Paula Foley!  Paula and family were joined in church today by a long-time friend, Kim, who will help them celebrate Paula’s birthday today.

Our ministries continue to show up in the most challenging circumstances from Covid and the Delta Variant --- and do so with the fervor of healing and justice.  It is thus a day to celebrate that the life of the church is vibrant beyond our church walls and outreach ministries. So, let us give thanks for this collective work of the Spirit. Let us pray for God’s help to respond to the suffering we see—knowing that by doing so, we may 

create a just, caring, healthy and compassionate world. Amen. 

Loryn Baker requested prayers for her two-year-old son who will be getting tubes placed in his ears tomorrow.  He will have to fast many hours before the procedure.  He is autistic, and the mom has anxiety disorder, so it will be a difficult time for them. 

We pray for Cesar and Jen Rodrigues.  Cesar's father passed away and they will be traveling to Brazil to lay him to rest this week.
